Welcome to Season Two of "The Simpsons" on DVD - twenty-two jam-packed episodes of malicious cartoon frivolity that helped make 1990 and 1991 such entertaining and annoying years. This is when full-blown Simpsons Mania hit America. and millions of thoughtful young people across the land were either wearing or selling bootleg Bart Simpson T-shirts. The wild success of the TV show, along with every product that had Bart's leering face slapped on it, would have been daunting had we been able to look up from our drawing tables. But everyone who wore on "The Simpsons" was so consumed with the making of the weekly cartoon that we were able to maintain the exhaustion and worry and carefully nursed bitterness that lies behind all successful Hollywood extravaganzas. If the first season was a series of wild experiments that succeeded beyond our dreams, the second season was a nonstop workathon that was redeemed by the knowledge we were amusing and irritating so many people. Many of the shows from this season remain among my all-time favorites. I'm particularly fond of Bart's pride in getting a grade of D-minus at the end of "Bart Gets An F"; the debut of the ever-slobbering Kang and Kodos in the first of our annual "Treehouse Of Horror" episodes; Homer almost making it across Springfield Gorge on Bart's skateboard; Mr. Burns taking a reluctant bite of Blinky, the three-eyed fish; Maggie bonking Homer with a mallet after watching an "Itchy & Scratchy" cartoon; Bart going to Hell in "Bart Gets Hit By A Car"; and the flashback scene in "The Way We Was," when Homer catches his first glimpse of Marge in high school (se was hot). So put on a ratty old Simpsons T-shirt, grab a bowlful of heavily-salted snack treats, and sink into the couch for a marathon of "Simpsons" classics. This compilation of essays, lectures, and scholarly papers on Bart-k studies from 1953 to the present includes insights obtained by the author over a half-century career as a Bart-k specialist.Divided into three parts, chapters examine Bart-k as a multifaceted music figure: composer, folklorist, pianist, and teacher. As composer, it includes program notes, an introduction to his principles of composition, and theoretic-analytical discussion of selected works, including Mikrokosmos. As folklorist, it examines the outcome of Bart-k's fieldwork, methodology, and findings in East European, Arabic, and Turkist autochthonous folk music materials. Bart-k's American years are also discussed. The narrative is supported by a substantial number of musical examples and references.

Banjo Threeie - Banjo-Kazooie 3, or Banjo Threeie (as described by Gruntilda at the end of Banjo Tooie), is rumored to be the next installment in the Banjo Kazooie franchise.

Mumbo Jumbo (Banjo-Kazooie) - Mumbo Jumbo is a shaman in the N64 games Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, as well as the Game Boy Advance games Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge and Banjo Pilot. He lives in his many skull shaped huts scattered around the lands visited within the games.

Banjo Mandolin - The Banjo Mandolin, also called a "banjolin" for short, is, as the name suggests, an instrument hybrid of the Banjo and the Mandolin. It is tuned and played the same as the mandolin, and has four equally tuned pairs of strings, with the bridge resting on a resonant banjo-like 5 to 8 inch skin head.

Banjo-Pilot - Banjo-Pilot is a video game for the Game Boy Advance featuring characters from the Banjo-Kazooie series of video games. Similar to Diddy Kong Racing, players will be able to race around various locales from the Banjo-Kazooie universe.
