Beverly Hillbillies Vol. 2 The Beverly Hillbillies: Jed's Dilemma The feud between Granny and Pearl reaches the crisis stage when both ladies decide to take charge of the housekeeping duties in the Clampett mansion. Naturally, Pearl insists that she is only concerned that Granny is getting too old and tired to look after the family. Of course, to make certain that Granny feels too old and tired, Pearl helpfully spikes the old gal's soup with moonshine, er, "rheumatizz medicine." Hoping to calm both ladies down, Jed takes the whole family on a sightseeing tour of the Hills of Beverly. "Jed's Dilemma" was originally shown on January 16, 1963. The Beverly Hillbillies: The Great Feud When Sonny Drysdale (Louis Nye) runs off in terror at the prospect of marrying Elly May, the Clampetts grab their shootin' irons and prepare for a feud against the Drysdale family. Descending upon the Drysdale mansion, the hillbillies take "Mister Butler" (aka Ravenwood the butler) prisoner, but Granny orders Jethro to let the pretty French maid go, ("Aw, shucks!") Meanwhile, Drysdale tries to solve the dilemma in a civilized manner. Enhanced by a terrific "running commentary" ballad courtesy of Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, "The Great Feud" was originally telecast on December 10, 1962. The Beverly Hillbillies: Jed Saves Drysdale's Marriage With Mrs. Drysdale away at a health farm, Mr. Drysdale ask if cousin Pearl would be willing to be his housekeeper. As always, Pearl jumps to the wrong conclusion, assuming that Drysdale has asked for her hand in marriage. It is up to the rest of the Clampett clan to straighten out this latest of a long line of "predick-a-ments." "Jed Saves Drysdale's Marriage" first aired on January 23, 1963, at which time "The Beverly Hillbillies" was firmly enscounced as America's number one TV program. The Beverly Hillbillies" The Clampetts Get Culture Try as they might, the Clampetts just can't seem to fit in with Beverly Hills society.

A singer and guitarist, he first came to prominence as a member of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys in the 1940s. Scruggs style - Scruggs style is a fingerpicking method of playing the banjo, also known as the three-finger technique or roll. Named for Earl Scruggs, its first major proponent, it typically requires picks on the thumb and first two fingers of the right hand, with the ring and little fingers braced solidly on the head of the instrument.
